Too Late To Be, er, Creative

It's too late to try to be creative, but I have been neglecting
this thing too much. The holidays have come and gone, and
I was so sad to have to take down our nice Christmas tree. It
smelled so nice of pine. We've had in-laws staying with us, and
in-laws visiting, and we hosted our first real Christmas in our
new home, with Max sleeping happily in our bed during dinner for
nine.
Max is growing, and growing too fast. I feel as if I don't take enough time to write. I think that writing is too much like the travels of a snail, and that words are simply slime. Words seem inconsolate compared to a living breathing human being baby. They fail me much more frequently now than before. I have no audience that I know of...the only e-mail messages I get are job offers, get-rich-quick scheme spams, and notes from family. I do enjoy the notes from family, but I do miss getting notes from people Out There, whom I'd never meet, who happened to stumble upon my e-mail address of website and actually write something real. No advertisements. Just opinions, derision, questions, and jokes. I got a notebook computer with Linux installed on it, but no way to connect it to the net. I should be using it more, because I took it from my Mother with grand visions of a portable Unix box -- just for grins. I put some more RAM in it and wiped the hard drive. Now I can't get X Windows to work on it, because the version I have doesn't seem to recognize the video display device. Sigh. So I just do text stuff with it -- which would be fine if I could get an ethernet PC card for it cheap -- and it has the Apache web server on it. So after 5 or 6 weeks without an ISP from home, and ignoring my e-mail address and website, I'm back. I signed up with Real/Time [512-451-0045 I think] because they are networked with like six different T1 lines going onto different backbones. I need a new PC! I need to spruce up Max's homepages, and possibly the rest of this old site too. This homepage has been going strong since 1995, and I hope this new year will bring some more dynamic content to the site, as well as movement of some sort of product perhaps that some folks will find useful. All you web crawlers, bots, search engines, and humans... good night!
